National Geographic Holiday Book Boutique

What a great idea for this Holiday season – You know how much I love books, well I got to enjoy a many few thanks to Moms Meet! As a member of Moms Meet I had the chance to review the National Geographic Book Boutique program.  This program is a great way to sample some amazing books by National Geographic, enjoy a great discount and increase your families reading choices to include everything from animal chapter books to the 2014 National Geographic Almanac.  The Holiday Book Boutique is a wonderful way to introduce National Geographic.  Not only is National Geographic well-known and respected, the educational opportunities they offer to any and everyone who opens one of their books is without measure.  Children who have not found a love for reading, can open one of these books and become alive with desire to learn more and more about their world.

I highly recommend this program, and with the savings up to 40% on many great books you should consider not only purchasing for you and your family but consider picking up a few gifts for friends and family as well!

The National Geographic books come filled with photos, facts presented in a fun and educational way that offers the education without the feeling of reading a dry school text-book.  These books come alive in the readers hand, letting them explore new concepts and ideas in an age appropriate manner.

When we offer children a balance between “Fun and Education” the outcome is a perfect balance and a lifetime reward.  I love watching my children get excited about books!  After reviewing this program I agree, if you would also like to get your kids excited about reading and learning please check out this program.  It is never to early to start introducing your child to the amazing world of reading and the power of education with National Geographic books.

Take a jump over to to enjoy 40% savings on some amazing books.  My son didn’t put the Almanac down until he read almost every page!  These are some of the best range of titles and the boutique covers a great age range.  I love that every time you buy any National Geographic title it supports conservation efforts, very very cool!

Let me know what great adventures and great facts you learn from this amazing offer – I loved these books!

I received books from National Geographic Holiday Book Boutique for my honest opinion.  Thank you to Moms Meet for the chance to share my opinion.

My Babies are Going Running!!

Hi – This is a bit off the norm – but hey with me sometimes everything is a bit off the norm.

My children are both running at Ivy Creek Fund Run to raise money for there school and the Technology Department.  Both Abigail and Owen Love to Run!  They think this is the most exciting event!  They both have a goal of $300.  If they reach it they get Kid sized Kid loved prizes that make us go HMM; but happy they are happy – Like a Yard of Gum, and a Limo Ride to Ice Cream with the Principle!  Okay that does sound like fun! I was hoping you might consider taking a look at their fundraiser pages and decide if you can help support them.  It is a one time donation – not a donation by lap (Too many people say sure $5 a lap, then the kids run 40 laps) much easier this way:).

Here is an example of the e-mails the kids sent out.

Hi its Me Abigail/Owen!  I am running in the Ivy Creek Fun Run On October 18, 2013, to raise money for my school!  Would you please support me with a one time donation? My goal is to raise $300.00.

Also, If you would like to come see me run please give my parents a call. I would love to have you cheer me on!  I am helping raise much-needed funds to help our school with technology equipment to help better our education.

Please consider donating to this important cause. I am going to have a blast running!! Nothing more fun, and it’s even during school! You can use the link at the bottom of this post to visit my site where you can donate to my school fundraiser.

As always I really hope you have a super day!!

Do you have all the right answers?

Today is Tuesday 8/13/2013. It is a beautiful day, full of potential, clean air and light clouds.  Today, I am diving into a question; If when your child asked you a question about anything, that when you spoke your words would come across such that the love, tenderness and fullness of their meaning would come across each time. That the answers you give are in stone. Truth. No need to visit it again, for you answered the question and as a parent you have the correct and only answer. Would you want that?

Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 11:19

I want my children to understand what I am sharing with them, as an answer to their question is open for interpretation and discussion.  I want them to question, to test and try to understand the minutia in the everyday tedium that will grow wild without tending, without examination.  I desire for their learning from analyzing, from searching their own minds, seeking the truth in my words as well as others in books or in life that have different answers to the same questions.  In order to accept and live with a Truth, one must first sharpen the pencil.

Life is a series of teachable moments, we are given a pencil with one end sharpened and the other with an eraser, so that we can continue to grow, learn become more and more precise in our understanding as we go.  Life is not written in ink, only the indelible moments for those in-between we can erase and modify our conclusions

I do not want to say “Never Hit, for it is wrong to strike another. Turn the other cheek.”  Then have my children blindly accept that as fact, and in turn mold themselves to a resolve of believing that Hitting is wrong “Always” one must turn the other cheek, PERIOD.

I want my children to believe me, honor my words and my experience.  I also desperately want them to ask questions.  Why, can we not strike another if the situation is “A” or “B” ?? I think the act of asking questions, testing the waters not only lets us as parents set needed boundaries, it is those questions that give our children the chance to learn something in their way, through their questions, they’re seeking the truth that will lead them to honoring what we have given them as advice and as lessons to live by, also a way for them to accept it because they came to the same conclusion through their own devices.

Today, this question.  I raise my children to know Mom is always there for anything.  They know all they have to do is ask. They also know that questioning something is natural, human and above all the only way we can feel confident within ourselves that it is truly the answer we were seeking. “Teach your children” Teach, not dictate – teach the act of learning, to learn we must first question.

Through these paths of learning one may find the building of ones character imminent.

Babies Babies Everywhere – Shall We Think – HMMM What Do We Need??

With all the Babies that have graced my family and extended family and friends, I only think it fair to take time to research as much as possible the ins and outs of No GMO, No Gluten foods.  The best homemade recipes.  Dr. Denmark. Organic cloths, and toys.  The way baby foods  are made from scratch. The old-fashioned way in the trays in the freezer or the new machines that make food from fresh veggies right they’re for the baby and you!!  Imagine it.  Let’s look at bottles for those not breastfeeding.  Lets look at books and toys for the toddlers – Let’s go Baby Crazy!!!

So with that I am off to find a little of this and a little of that to let you and your families know that someone besides you cares just as much.

Try The Kiwi Magazine – Also click to GreenMomsMeet of the front page of this Blog – They have amazing information on items from Stevia to Eco Cloths.  One of the best websites for new organic environmentally friendly products I have found, hence listed on my site.  Have a great day!

1/23/2013 Today is Wednesday A Hump in our Lives, Week, Circumstance

Thinking about the world in a way that is two years in a chair, makes you realize the pain you have been hiding.  I see pictures of me so much shorter than my husband – who by the way should be Husband of the century for the things he does to a young wife.  He goes out of his way to make “Life” more able for me and is my Cheerleader all the way.  I was so stuck in the bubble that I was a burden, I never stopped to see all that he has/had done.

Though, I know I am down and that is not healthy for creative energy.  I love to scrapbook – yet it is so hard to see photos of me standing playing, holding my children.  I have left it full of cobwebs if you will.  I want to know what is going on outside these doors, what is happening around the block.  I am heavier now than I have ever been and it scares me. I don’t look in mirrors unless it is very very important to do so.

I realize that life is a bunch of choices, God never gives us more than we can handle.  I scream- what what am I doing to Glorify My Heavenly Father here in this chair??  Alone at home without even the inability to cross the threshold from inside to outside….  I see few people – who wants to visit someone who might be in a bought of pain when you happen by?  I missed my own birthday party last year.  People were there for me and my son, to love and be elated with us.  I was stuck in bed for almost a week.

I did it again, I keep thinking I can blog, my heart wants to tell you of all the amazing ideas that run through my head – when I end up here knowing I am disabled, and have not gone through the grief that goes with that.  For I know every step forward has lead me two steps back.

I Hurt, and hurting people are not fun to be around.  I am reading the bible and a few Christian novels, working on cheering up my day to day disposition.  For whatever reason I am falling short.  I try to move more when people are not here to try to loose some weight or relieve some pain and they ask me days later about a bruise, and I say, “Oh I just had a little stumble”-  Hence the acting.  My Doctors call me a rare case.  The Hospital sent me home told me to stay with the pain management until something worse happens that we may be able to do something about.

Heres to God – I have Surrendered and will daily – help me find me! Help me understand my new life.

I Pray to anyone who reads this, has an amazing relationship with God.  Is Healthy and doesn’t take that for granted.  Do all you can do.  Paint a masterpiece, build a monument for the feeling inside – Glorify Him in all you do and Sing Praise!!!

May God find a special place in His kingdom to send an angel down to heal a hurt relationship make all the misunderstandings whole and bring new life to that part of me that cries out  ~Amen and Amen

Here’s to trying again soon – Jenn
